I am getting this same issue too. I did everything you said, double checked spelling, and even changed the port from 25 to 587 in the “more setting” window.

What can I do?

sorry still getting the error :/ the test acct. settings pops it up i have used the two tips- not sure what it could be. (i am not the admin of this email account- i have an account under the domain but not the admin account.)

thanks Patrice- the port change seems to have fixed it super happy that i dont have to keep going to the website for email!

Hi Dave,

I hope you are not still having this issue, but if you are, try adding in your username (full email) and password to the box below the outgoing server requires authentication box. If you choose login using: then type in your credentials that might help.

Also try changing your outgoing port from 25 to 587. This may also help.

Let me know if that does not work.

hey i followed the steps properly, and everything is spelled properly, however i am getting a hang up on the sending test email- i have tried to configure it a few different ways but nothing seems to work- is there a proper port it should be on? and as of right now i can receive all of my email, just cant send any of it.

Using smartermail pro 5.5 and outlook 2007 on win xp
